Since Advaitic wisdom is hidden by the Sage Sankara from the masses, it has been lost in the clutches of orthodoxy.+

Sage Goudapada and Sage Sankara are Sages of truth. Since Advaitic wisdom is hidden by the Sage of truth it becomes very difficult to understand and assimilate the Advaitic wisdom expounded by the great Sages.

That is why Sage Sankara:~ 65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it, and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

Chandogya Upanishads: ~ “This universe comes forth from Brahman (Atman) and will return to Brahman. Verily, all is Brahman. A person is what his deep desire is. It is our deepest desire in this life that shapes the life to come. So let us direct our deepest desires to realize the Self.

The one who holds the ‘I’ as the Self never will be able to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Thus, it is necessary to realize first the Self is not the ‘I’ but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, the witness of the ‘I’.

The ‘I-centric Gurus and their teaching are not a yardstick in the path of wisdom. ‘I’ based teaching will not lead the seeker to the ultimate end of his inner journey.

Advaitic wisdom is attainable not by listening to the sermons or attending retreats of ‘I-centric Gurus nor by the study of books, not by staying in the Ashram nor by the grace of physical Gurus not by good deeds. You can attain Self-awareness only through the clear quest of the Self, which is hidden by the ‘I’.

Advaitic Gnana is given neither from outside nor from another person.

Many seekers following the ‘I-centric’ gurus and their teaching still struggling even after long years and waiting for something to happen. Even after reading and inquiring deeply enough, still, they are still unable to progress further. Even if they are unable to get any benefit in their spiritual pursuit through ‘I-centric' inquiry they are unable to give up the ‘I-centric’ -inquiry due to the sentimental attachment to some Gurus of the past.

‘I –centric inquiry is a good tool at the beginning of the pursuit of truth. However, the seeker will find it inadequate in the latter stages. However, it creates lots of doubts and confusion. The seeker has to find the answers on his own through deeper reasoning only all his doubts and confusions will be cleared, and he will be able to move ahead in the path of inquiry, and he will be able to reach his non-dual destination.

Fortunate is the one who does not lose himself sentimentally in the ‘I-centric path but realizes the ‘Self’ hidden by the ‘I’.

Sages of truth restrained themselves parting the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana to the mass and only a selected few.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was hidden from the people who were not qualified and receptive to it. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was not written down but was imparted orally to the chosen few. Thus, religion was given to the ignorant populace, and the knowledge of the Spirit, the God was given to only a selected few.

Thus, we find traces of the knowledge of the Spirit in the religious books in the form of parables.

The Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection; and of those who strive and succeed, scarcely one knows the ‘Self’ in truth.

The path of wisdom attracts only those who are in search of truth and they appreciate it greatly. The ignorant are not spiritually mature enough to receive Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. The ignorant indulge in argument provocation and personal attack, which hinder their own realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman.

That is why Jesus said: - Do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. (Matthew -7:6)

~ Jesus meant knowledge of Spirit or Knowledge of God or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ “Don't unsettle the minds of the ignorant by revealing the esoteric truth."

Katha Upanishad says: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. (II -23-P-20)

Thus, those who have taken the path of wisdom are chosen ones. The chosen one will get the grace of the Soul the inner Guru. The path of wisdom is the Soulcentric path, whereas all other paths are egocentric. All egocentric paths lead to hallucination.

The Soul, the 'Self' reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.

This is the bondage that you are stuck up to the ‘I’ centric teaching. ‘I’ centric teachings are lower knowledge meant for lower stages.

The seeker has to ignore these ‘I-centric’ teachings and search for higher knowledge. ... Such teachings are unsafe rafts for crossing the ocean of ignorance.

Doomed to shipwreck are those who try to cross the ocean of ignorance on these poor rafts. Ignorant of their own ignorance, yet wise in their own esteem, these deluded people proud of their vain learning go round and round like the blind led by the blind.

The Soul, the Self is verily Brahman (God), being equanimous, quiescent, and by nature absolute Existence, Knowledge, and Awareness. The Soul is not the ‘I’ which is non-existence itself. The realization of this truth is called Self-knowledge by the Sages of truth.

There is nothing that exists before consciousness. The ‘I’ ceases to exist without consciousness. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
